It has been 2 years since the Czech masters Lvmen released their last album “Mondo”. I must say that was at a time an album I just couldn’t get enough of. Although in one aspect less heavy than “Raison d’Etre”, it was all in all a well rounded piece of music.
Now in 2008, Lvmen are back with yet another masterpiece: “Heron”. All you girls and boys in love with this band won’t be disappointed. Their signature is still here, with emotional guitar passages and intelligent/ always interesting drumming, albeit dark atmosphere is that something they absolutely succeeded in creating.
Samples fit in the music like a glove and are combined with vocals that appear only faintly. There are much less vocal parts on this than on previous albums (at least I got this feeling), but that, I admit, doesn’t bother me much. Musically, everything is in its right place, advisedly done and well rounded!
For me this is “Mondo” with the dark atmosphere of their earlier releases, and that is something that is good enough for me – loud and clear:
