Amon Amarth recently appeared at Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods 2009 awards at the 02 in London, playing a blistering 15 minute set alongside Saxon, Trivium, DevilDriver and Anvil.
Soon afterwards, they walked away with an award for BEST BREAKTHROUGH ACT. This is made all the more sweeter as this Golden God is one of the awards voted for by fans and readers of Metal Hammer.

After the successful re-issue of the Amon Amarth debut album, “Once Sent From The Golden Hall”, it’s time to announce the details for the second re-issue of the year. The second album in the discography of Amon Amarth is The Avenger, and the 2-disc, deluxe re-issue is set for release on May 26th! The Avenger will be released again as a digipak featuring two discs. Disc one features the entire The Avenger album, re-mastered, plus the bonus track Thor Arise!

Amon Amarth announces re-issues of first four albums

Sweden’s Amon Amarth has announced re-issues of their first four albums, all to be released this year! The series will kick off with their classic Metal Blade debut, Once Sent From A Golden Hall.
The re-release will contain two discs packaged in a digipak with new liner notes from the band. Disc one features the entire ‘Once Sent From A Golden Hall’ album, completely re-mastered plus the bonus track ‘Siegreicher Marsch’ (German version of ‘Victorious March’)!
