Hatebreed are set to release their long-awaited new covers album, “For The Lions” via Century Media Records in Europe on May 11th, 2009 and E1 Music (formerly Koch Records) in the US on May 5th, 2009.

The songs on “For The Lions” were carefully selected by Hatebreed to represent a panoramic view of some of their favorite artists and greatest musical inspirations. Having completed the album in 2008, the band felt their work wasn’t done yet and just returned to the studio with original guitar player Wayne Lozinak to record additional tracks for the album. The 4 new covers are among the most bludgeoning the band has ever recorded and include “Ghosts Of War” (Slayer), “Supertouch/Shitfit (Bad Brains), “Thirsty” (Black Flag) and “Suicidal Maniac” (Suicidal Tendencies).

Hatebreed will release their first live DVD, entitled “Live Dominance”, on September 2 via Koch. The main DVD concert shoot took place at Harpo’s in Detroit on Saturday, March 29, 2008 in front of a sold-out crowd.

Directed by Kevin Custer, the DVD will also feature a collection of recent live shows from various tour stops in Germany, Philadelphia, New York City and New Haven.

Hatebreed enlisted Vinnie Paul Abbott to produce, document and record the band’s May 27, 2008 concert in Dallas, Texas at the Palladium Ballroom. The resultant recording will be released as the live album, “Live in Dallas”, due in early 2009. An all-covers album entitled “For the Lions” — featuring Hatebreed’s renditions of songs by Misfits, Metallica, Judge, Cro-Mags, D.R.I., Negative Approach, Agnostic Front, Madball, Sheer Terror and Obituary, among others — is expected late October.
